learn at steart marshes

Thank you for this afternoon, it was excellent - I personally learnt lots and was able to see theory applied to a landscape (living Geography!).

The students were incredibly complimentary on the bus - high praise indeed, I don't think they have ever said as much to me. They were saying how much they had learnt and how it was useful to see a management strategy which has such holistic aims.

I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks to all the staff and volunteers at WWT for your incredible support during my fieldwork at Steart Marshes. Your help—whether it was offering guidance in the field, sharing local knowledge, helping with the logistics, or simply being there with encouragement—made a real difference to my experience. I’m especially grateful for the time and effort you gave so willingly, and for creating such a welcoming and supportive environment.

“Steart Marshes was a brilliant site for our Geography and Ecology and Environmental Science students to explore saltmarsh environments and coastal change. The staff and volunteers were very helpful and enthusiastic, providing great insights into marsh creation and management, and the many important roles these environments play. Hope to return with students in future years!”

“It was a great opportunity for our Environment Students from the Royal Agricultural University to visit Steart Marshes recently. They were given fascinating insights into the practicalities of wetland restoration but also the key roles this plays in ecosystem service delivery and addressing climate change problems. A fantastic birdwatching opportunity too – the bittern we saw was a first for most of our students!”

I wanted to thank you for the excellent presentation on Tuesday. It was informative, interactive and engaging. I have had lots of positive feedback from staff and students alike.

I hope we can continue to work together in the future.
